Program Spotlight: Providence Christian- Coach Joey Thacker

With the high school season coming to a close, I have a lot of time on my hands, which gives the opportunity to start our Program Spotlight series. Throughout the spring, I will go speak with different high school coaches in the state to get their thoughts about the 2019-20 season, the current state of their program, and their outlook on next year.

We start off at Providence Christian Academy, who is led by Joey Thacker. This past season was the first for Thacker at the helm of the Storm program. They experienced one of the biggest turnarounds you will see; PCA won 7 combined games in the previous 3 seasons, but went 24-3 this winter and Thacker was named Region Coach Of The Year. With the addition of Chance Thacker & Elijah Williams, and a passionate leader in Coach Thacker, the Storm opened a lot of eyes this year. Having watched multiple Providence games and practices this year, I can tell you first-hand that a high standard is being set and a new culture has been established quickly. Below is the full video interview that was conducted with Coach Thacker.

Providence Christian Academy Head Coach Joey Thacker talks about his 1st year leading the Storm, and also speaks on what’s ahead for the program.
